Spring is time for new life and new loves, and it’s no different in the world of celebrity. Today, we’re looking at the new celebrity spring flings.

Sean Penn and Charlize Theron

This couple have been going for at least as long as January, when they were finally caught smooching. Since then, Sean has been spotted hanging out with Charlize’s son Jackson, which makes commentators suspect this could be a lasting relationship.

Courtney Cox and Johnny McDaid

Courtney is said to be completely smitten with Snow Patrol rocker Johnny. They’ve been going strong since the end of last year. Although there are the usual rumours of marriage and living together are swirling around the couple, this pair did get started just months after Courtney broke up with her Cougar Town co-star, Brian Van Holt, so it could just be a rebound.

Still, her ex-husband David Arquette seems to approve, telling American TV host Windy Williams, “He’s amazing… My whole thing is that, he’s a great man and to have someone kind, that you trust around your kid is the most important part.” So maybe they will work out.

Michael Sheen and Sarah Silverman

He is known for his high-quality representations of famous men. She is known for her crass sense of humour. Still, this odd couple have been dating at least since February, when Sarah attended Michael’s birthday party. Since then, they have been seen walking hand in hand nearly everywhere they go. We have to say, this couple is so unexpected that it just might work out.

Demi Moore and Sean Friday

This pair were snapped enjoying quality time during a holiday in Mexico recently, and they genuinely seem to have fun together. Demi is well known for dating men nearly half her age, and this is no exception: Sean, the drummer of rock band Dead Sara (no, we haven’t heard of them, either), is just 27, whilst she is 51. Age seems to be just a number for her, though – her relationship with Ashton Kutcher lasted eight years, much longer than most expected.

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin

Perpetual bachelor George has sworn to never marry again, and speculators think that may be why his long-term girlfriends always leave him. So most people are expecting his new relationship with international law and human rights barrister Amal to follow a similar pattern: they stay together for a couple of years before they break up and she gets married almost instantly afterwards.

But the difference here is that Amal really has her own life going – she’s even representing Julian Assange in his extradition proceedings to Sweden. She’s not in “the business”, so she won’t be dating him to gain fame (as some other exes have been accused of doing). Moreover, she shares his passion for human rights. But if she wants the ring and he simply won’t do it, then they are going to have a bad time.

Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes

Okay, so neither one has admitted they are an item, but they were spotted spending a lot of time in each other’s company during the Super Bowl weekend in early February. As they are still ducking reports and haven’t made any official announcements, we’re going to have to stay on the fence about this one. On the one hand, keeping things incredibly private seems to be the tried-and-true way to Hollywood romance success. On the other hand, they may just be good friends. Who knows what the future will hold for these two?

So what do you think? Are these celebrity spring flings going to last, or will the stars change partners with the seasons? Only time will tell.
