This one’s for you: Microgaming has teamed-up with the immensely popular TV franchise “Battlestar Galactica” (the remake that ran from 2004 to 2009) and produced a video slot game to die for. Stunning looks, authentic storyline, stellar bonuses and special features never seen before in any other slot game – these are just some of the traits of this addictive game of spins. Characteristics

We are deep space-bound in this five reels, three row game with 243 ways to win. The standard set of low value symbols are letters and numbers, while eight characters from the TV show are high value symbols. A spacecraft is a scatter symbol, while the logo of the game (and the show) serves as a wild.

The graphics and design is nothing short of phenomenal. The backdrops against a a futuristic reel-frame design can morph into different shapes and colors depending on the game mode you’re in, while background itself is discretely animated scene from depths of unknown galaxy. When 3 or more symbols are matched, they animate and play an audio excerpt of that character’s line from series. The game is occasionally assisted by certain cut-outs from the show that compliment the flow of the play nicely and do not distract, but this is mostly done during the play mode change. The soundtrack is appropriately epic and spacey.

Special Features

Some of the series’ most notable moments have shape-shifted into bonus features. Most notably, and for sure most uniquely, there are three different game modes that will launch randomly during the play: Normal mode, during which the Ion Storm game will activate – this is where potentially all five reels can turn into wild symbols for some impressive big wins. Then there is the Run mode, during which wins can be payed out both left to right and right to left, plus if the FLT symbol lands on a centre reel a Jump game will commence (in it, FLT symbol will land on slots from which certain playing symbols are removed and it will replace any of the character symbols). Finally, there is the Fight mode that grants you an extra wild symbol.

As is the habit, three or more scatter symbols will commence a Free Spin mode with a triple multiplier.

Conclusion

With as many unpredictable twist and turns as the original series, “Battlestar Galactica” slot game is packed with exciting bonus features and innovative game modes.
