Recently, there have been some big moves in the online bingo world, with bingo sites changing hands left, right and centre. At the beginning of the week, Rehab Bingo was taken over by Broadway Gaming, which also operates two of the biggest bingo sites on the internet – Butlers Bingo and Gossip Bingo.
Rehab Bingo was previously owned and operated by Raglan Gaming of Ireland but, as of 13th January, the site came under the control of Broadway Gaming. Broadway Gaming was formed in 2009 and it started its online bingo enterprises by launching Butler’s Bingo in 2011. Then, in April of 2013, Broadway Gaming launched their second online bingo brand – Glossy Bingo. Now, with Rehab Bingo coming under the company’s control, Broadway Gaming is emerging as a notable force in the bingo world.
However, both Butlers Bingo and Glossy Bingo are hosted on the Microgaming Bingo Network and they also use Microgaming’s software. While Rehab Bingo uses Virtue Fusion bingo software and it is hosted on the VF network. So, we’re not entirely sure how Broadway Gaming intends to develop the brand.
Another online bingo operator that has been rapidly launching and acquiring bingo sites from across a number of networks is 8Ball Games Ltd. In recent months they have picked up and launched a number of sites that include Bubblegum Bingo, Cocktail Bingo and Bingo Irish, to name but a few. And, just like Broadway Gaming’s recent acquisition, these acquisitions for 8Ball Games have left us wondering what on earth they are going to do with all of these bingo sites?
We have sent enquiries to 8Ball Games regarding their recent bingo site collecting exercise, in a bid to establish what these moves will mean for the online bingo player. However, a volley of blunt and unhelpful emails later and we’re still no closer to establishing what is going on, which has led us to be cautious about the emerging bingo operator. However, you can rest assured that we will bring you the latest news about the goings on at both 8Ball Games and Broadway Gaming as soon as we find out ourselves.
