Bingo sites that support charities aren’t a new thing, with many various sites out there, spread across a number of bingo networks. Some of these ‘charity bingo sites’ include Rehab Bingo, Pink Ribbon Bingo and Bingo Giving. Now, one of the biggest cancer care charities in the UK has launched its very own bingo site – Marie Curie’s Tickety Boo Bingo.
The brand new charity bingo site has only just opened its virtual doors so it’s difficult to say how it will get on but, from the time we’ve spent playing at the site, we found it to be a decent and worthwhile addition to the plethora of bingo sites that are littered across the internet.
Tickety Boo Bingo uses the ever-popular Globalcom bingo software to power its bingo games and side games. All bingo rooms at the new bingo site are hosted on the Dragonfish Bingo Network and they come in three flavours, so to speak – classic 90-ball bingo, US-style 75-ball pattern bingo and High Five 75-ball line bingo. This is pretty much the norm for sites on this particular network.
What about the charity aspect of things? Unfortunately, these details are a little hazy but we have requested this information from the Tickety Boo Bingo and we will inform you of our findings as soon as we have them. What we do know is that the actual charity – Marie Curie Cancer Care – owns the URL www.ticketyboogames.com, not the operator. This would indicate that they are serious about using the site as a revenue-raising enterprise and not just a publicity stunt to raise awareness for the charity.
UPDATE: After speaking with staff at Marie Curie Cancer Care, we can confirm that all net profits from the site will go directly to the charity.
Overall, we think that charity bingo sites are a good thing and the brand new Tickety Boo Bingo is absolutely no different. In fact, due to the seemingly hands-on approach that the charity has with the brand, we think that Marie Curie have hit the nail on the head with Tickety Boo Bingo!
