Old men playing poker.

Four OAPs ran a cheating scheme while playing poker at a US casino last summer, according to court charges.

One of the men was jailed on Wednesday, while the whereabouts of the others is not known.

All four of them have previous convictions for cheating whilst gambling.

The men cheated together at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. They won $200 in 45 minutes in a card room.

A spokesperson for the casino said that pursuing the men was important, in order to keep the game legitimate.

According to the charges, the men sat together at a three-card poker table. One of them distracted the dealer, whilst the other two who were sat next to each other, palmed cards and swapped them under the table.

Whilst this was happening, the fourth man stood behind the two card swappers in an effort to shield them from surveillance by a ceiling camera.

“They just came in, made a quick hit and were gone,” Mr Maday said.

Duane L. Racle, 75, is being held in the Scott County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. The others charged but missing are: James P. Minehan, 75; Wildred Sanchez, 74; and Nicholas R. Crowder, 77.

Surveillance photos from the casino were distributed to law enforcement across America, leading to the four being identified as convicted gambling cheats. Mr Minehan’s criminal history is the most extensive out of the group, and includes gambling convictions in the states of Florida, Illinois and Washington.
