Unibet have decided to pull the plug on its bingo relationship with Playtech after announcing the development of a standalone platform.
Playtech’s Virtue Fusion network powered the software behind Unibet’s bingo products and the recent news ends their 5-year relationship. Interestingly enough, it was about this time last year that the gaming operator decided to launch its own in-house poker platform.

Daniel Eskola, Head of iGaming at Unibet, said: “With the success of the new standalone poker, the natural next step was to look at bingo.
“Our ambition is to reinvigorate Bingo, make it more exciting than current products on the market and appeal to a wider audience.”
Unibet will continue to use Virtue Fusion software until its own product is released sometime in mid-2015. Relax Gaming will again be developing the software as they did with Unibet’s poker platform.
Unibet have been busy at work scanning the bingo industry and finding ways to improve on what is already out there. The new product will be a cross-platform offering with apps designed for iOS and Android. They are planning a loyalty scheme, a range of casino games and additional in-game feature – exciting stuff!
Maybe Unibet’s move ties in with the recent Point of Consumption tax – building an in-house product would potentially save a tonne of cash as they would not have to pay Playtech to use their software.
Whatever the reason, you can be sure that Two Little Fleas will be covering Unibet’s new platform so expect a review in the very near future!
