Preparations to reopen safely have meant Buzz Bingo have had to keep their club doors closed a little longer than their competition, but they promise it will be worth it! Mecca Bingo and Club 3000 are among the bingo halls in England already open, but it would seem Buzz weren’t exactly in a rush to welcome back their customers, but what’s taking them so long?
Barbara Frost was among the many fans to query this on their Facebook page recently; “Shame it’s taking so long. Your losing customers to Mecca. They have done it all and it’s good. Get your fingers out buzz.” Well talk about being blunt! To be honest, they have had more than enough time to prepare, but stalling could lead to players dabbing elsewhere.
To try and clear things up, Buzz has been copying pasting a lot over the last couple of days, but the message just doesn’t seem to be sinking in; “The safety of our members and colleagues will always be our focus so we aren’t rushing the process – we’re ensuring we take as much time as needed to make sure our clubs are safe so our members and teams can feel comfortable.”
What would you prefer; a rushed opening without safety measures in place or proper safety measures? I know what I’d prefer! Social media is where you need to be to keep up to date with the latest news on re-opening, so if you’re on Facebook, don’t forget to give them a follow.
Get Ready to Dab:
Members and colleague’s safety are their number one priority and they’ve been doing a lot of work in the clubs to ensure they are safe for your return. To help keep you safe, there will be some changes when the doors to a select few open on August 6th, these include:
- Simplified bingo games and more session times to give you more choice
- Reduced capacity for easier social distancing, so the only full house they’re going to have will be on the bingo ticket!
- Smaller food menu to help prepare meals more safely
- Sanitisation stations for regular hand washing
- Safety screens in key areas such as ticket sales, the bar and food station
- New signs to help everyone move around safely
- Increased contactless pay limit to £45, this means no card details required, just tap and go!
- Cordoned off seating areas and possibly slot machines
Chris Matthews, CEO of Buzz said: “We can’t wait to reopen our doors from 6th August and be back together again with our customers, it has been a long time apart. Our clubs are at the heart of local communities, but we only wanted to reopen when we were sure we had done everything to keep our customers and colleagues safe.
We’ve missed seeing everyone but the health and safety of our colleagues and customers is our number one priority! We’ve made sure extensive measures have been put in place to offer customers comfort so that they can safely return to their local bingo club to see old friends and enjoy a few games again.”
But of the 112 bingo halls in the UK, which ones are set to open first? There will be a total of 12 clubs to reopen on August 6th, and these are:
- Aldershot
- Coventry Savoy
- Derby City
- Enfield
- Feltham
- Fenton
- Gloucester
- Leicester
- Lordshill
- Nottingham Top Valley
- Swindon
- Tooting
Buzz’s CEO continued: “We’ve spent the last few months eagerly preparing for their return and our clubs are now covid-secure with enhanced cleaning schedules, simplified sessions and easy social distancing. We want everyone to feel safe and relaxed in their local club and in the meantime, we are there for our customers with bingo, slots and games online.
We can’t wait to welcome everyone back – at a social distance of course; both our regular players and friends – as well as new players who might want to try something new. Let’s help the nation get its buzz back!”
