This year marks six decades of being in the bingo business for Mecca Bingo and we’ve already witnessed bingo tickets at 1961 prices with 2021 prizes, enhanced prize pools and even free spinner wheels, but to mark this monumental occasion, they want to celebrate with a bang, and they need your help.
You only reach sixty once which is why they want an accolade to cherish for years to come and that only comes a Guinness World Record trophy! Yep, you’ve guessed it, they want to get into the Guinness World Record books, only it’s easier said than done. No, they don’t want to be remembered for serving up the most chippie meals, nor do they want masses of people to come play bingo, all they want is a simple birthday message from our nation of bingo lovers!
To achieve their goal…
…they need more than 5,000 people to record video birthday messages because this is what will land them a spot in the hall of fame, If you’re a lover of bingo and recognise that 60-years on the high street is a big deal, then they want to hear from you. All UK bingo players are encouraged to get involved, including staff and bingo players from rival bingo brands!
Your Time is Now:
This absolutely free promotion requires just a short video with “Happy Birthday Mecca Bingo,” that’s all that’s needed, whether you want to record your message from the comfort of your own home or from your local Mecca Bingo, it’s entirely up to you. There is just one other rule, the video needs to be at least 5-seconds long and must include both audio and video content. Once you’ve done that, you can upload your video to the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS website.
Sam Fay, Head of Strategy at Mecca Bingo, said: “Turning 60 is a huge milestone for us at Mecca so we wanted to celebrate it with something big and what better than breaking a Guinness World Record title? Our customers mean everything to us, so working with them on this attempt is really special. We can’t wait for them all to get involved.”

On Saturday the 13th of this month, the total number of recorded and submitted videos will be announced nationwide, as well as on the exclusive Mecca Bingo TV channel, accessible in the online bingo rooms. You can log in to view the broadcast for free. Will you be getting involved?
