The Best Bingo Ads of 2012

Advertising is part and parcel of any business and the big online bingo brands out there have done their very best to stand out from the crowd, with their fun and exciting television adverts. There have been simply tons of new ads launched this year, for new brands and for our old favourites and here we’re taking a wistful look back at our top five of the year.

5. Just for the Jackpotjoy of It!

Coming in fifth is the fun and light-hearted Jackpotjoy Ad, launched in September. With the tagline ‘Just for the Jackpotjoy of it’ and featuring the queen of bingo Babs Windsor herself, this advert pokes fun at two pensioners competing in a formula one-styled race – in their mobility scooters. It’s hard not to laugh out loud when you see this ad for the first time and the tongue in cheek attitude places it firmly in our top five.

The advert starts with the two competitors lining up and then viewers watch as they tear round the race track with Babs at the finishing line acting as the race marshal. She also provides the voiceover and creates a fab finish to the fun ad.

4. Risqué Summer Fun at Foxy

This Summer Foxy Bingo went all out to ensure they got record number of players to the site, which meant of course a fantastic new advert starring their Furry Mascot. However, we’re used to seeing Foxy dressed up to the nines in his trademark purple suit but there’s a change in this ad. Much to Foxy fans delight the suave mascot bares all to the tune of Matt Monroe’s ‘Born Free’ and swooning bingo fans faint seeing their hero in his trunks.

Of course it’s all a bit of fun and it’s this cheeky, flirty style which makes Foxy Bingo so entertaining and it’s why we love them. This advert lives up to the quality of all their others and firmly deserves its spot in our top five.

3. Dancing Dogs with Wink Bingo

Smack bang in the middle of our list is the Wink Bingo Dancing Dog ad, which has only been out a few short weeks but appeals on so many levels, not least because it’s so funny. The advert features Wink Bingo players sat at their laptops enjoying a game or two, accompanied by their trusty hound. Then, when the player is lucky enough to scoop a jackpot win she celebrates in kooky style by dancing a fantastic Irish-style river dance with her pooch. It takes a few seconds to get going but soon enough the dog is jigging away like the best of them and provides plenty of belly laughs.

The cheesiness of this ad can’t be ignored but it’s so much fun we couldn’t help but pop it in our top five with some of the other gems out there.

2. Have you heard the Word?

Have you heard the word about the bird? The guys at William Hill Bingo have maximized on a recent craze for the old Surfin’ Bird classic brought about by popular US Comedy Family Guy. The Bird is the Word and at William Hill Bingo they’re making the most of the craze and featuring a supersized blue bird in their ad. The bird pops up in front a number of mobile and regular bingo players as they seemingly score jackpot wins and the tag line ‘everyone loves a little flutter’ fits in well too.

This advert is a huge hit with us because it’s capitalised on a popular tune and includes all the fun features we’d expect from a top ad. We wouldn’t be surprised if the supersized blue bird were to become a regular William Hill mascot in the future.

1. Ladies Night with Vic Reeves

Our number one advert of the year features the gorgeous, glamorous lady that is Vic Reeves in drag. Yes, you heard us right, the top ad of 2012 has got to be Vic Reeves reprising his role as an 888 lady for the 888Ladies Bingo brands. Yes, we know it’s an old ad come back for a second time but it really is a true modern classic and it’s absolutely hilarious.

Comedian Vic is a real sport for his part in the ad and that’s why it’s firmly in our top spot, that and the fact that it has us in stitches every time it comes on our screens.
