Grandmother Scoops Triple Jackpot Sum in Bingo Game

On Saturday 14th of May, a lucky grandmother from Glasgow saw her fortunes altered for the better after attending her local bingo hall. The regular Carlton Bingo player had decided on a game of bingo with her husband when not only did she win the national big money game but had the value of that win tripled in an instant!

The National Bingo Game is guaranteeing supersized prizes for the whole of May and the lucky 57-year old Scot managed to do what no other player in the whole of the UK had been able to do, she called a full house in the fewest numbers possible to win £150K! Usually, the full houses are £50K for calling a full house in 16 numbers or less but as this was a boosted bingo promotion, the winner walked away with three times that cash sum!

Ten Numbers in 16 Calls? Easy!

When asked did she have a lucky charms or superstitions on the night, the anonymous winner said: “Only my husband. We have been together for forty years and he is my bingo buddy, though he jokes about being more like my bingo chauffeur! After this I think a new car may be on the cards!” The lucky winner also plans to splurge the cash on a holiday to the Maldives, but she’ll need to sort their passports first!

Gary Duncanson, General Manager at Carlton Bingo Partick said, “It is always great to see people win, we had a £50,000 National Bingo Game winner in July last year, but there is something really wonderful about seeing a regular win something this big! £150,000 is an utterly amazing amount of money.

There were cheers when the claim was confirmed, but when the caller announced that it was Supersize Saturdays on the National Bingo Game and that the prize was £150,000, the club went mad and the winner looked completely overwhelmed. As three generations of the family play at the club I am sure there will be treats all round – we are delighted.”

The National Bingo Game is a 50-ball bingo game played in bingo clubs in the UK on an afternoon and an evening. Each participating club has its own full house prize, guaranteeing a winner in each venue. Three jackpots are available to be won alongside the full house winnings. To win an extra £100 a full house (10 numbers) must be called within 24 numbers or less…

…an extra £1K will be awarded to the full house winner on 20 numbers or less but the biggest sum of £50K is triggered on a full house of 16 calls or less. In May, those full house prizes can roll over to as much as £250K!

With the £150K being won, on Saturday 21st the full house will be reset to £50K, which is still a life-changing sum of money for most. If the full house isn’t won, on Thursday 26th that full house will be £100K!
