Play gala bingo

The girls of the hit reality TV show, The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) for short, choose to take their mum’s to Gala Bingo for a treat on Mother’s Day and it was actually quite funny to watch.

Jessica Wright was there with her mum Carol and Nanna Pat, Gemma was with her mum Joan, but sadly for Sam and her sister Billie their mum was ill, so was unable to make it.

The Gala Bingo scene dictated their girls and their mums playing bingo, Gemma did not seem to have a clue how to play bingo, but Nanna Pat was an old veteran at the game and also called house on the night! She also went on to tell us her biggest ever bingo win was £1,000, which she had years ago and was a huge jackpot win at the time. I can hear the ‘tut’s’ now though from some of the Gala members, as the girls were also seen talking whilst the game was in play.

Unlike the game of online bingo, where chatting whilst playing is actively encouraged, when playing in a club talking is not allowed as it could cause someone to miss hearing a number being called out, hence, then miss out on a win. One of the great things about playing online is you can never miss a win, because whether you are dabbing your own tickets or not and miss a number, if you win, your claim is made automatically for you.

Another plus for online play is – You are able to pre-purchase tickets for forthcoming games and pre-book for a number of big money jackpots (depending on what site you are playing at) and all games will play for you, whether you are online or not. All sites provide you with ‘game history’ so you are able to check the details of the game when you are next logged in.

I have to say, this was Gala Bingo glam at its best, with all involved dolled up to the nines. No more do you think of bingo and associate it with the term ‘the old blue rinse hair brigade’ instead, we now tend to see land based clubs as more of a social night out with our friends.

Last night we also see Joey Essex in some heartbreaking scenes which seem to have caused lots of controversy. Joey was filmed laying flowers and a card at his mum’s graveside on Mother’s Day, which was also her 50th Birthday with his girlfriend Sam. In later touching scenes Joey and his sister Frankie were seen releasing a sky lantern in the air with a special message to their mum.

Viewers have reportedly slammed the show in their droves for showing these personal intimate moments of Joey. They have taken to social networking sites twitter, facebook and emailing ITV2 to air their opinions.

Towie is a reality TV show and although some of what they do is made up for them, these people and their lives are real.

How did you treat your mum for Mothers Day? With a big bunch of flowers, a yummy box of chocolates, perfume, some other gorgeous gifts and maybe a lovely lunch? Or did you head down your local bingo club?

Love or hate TOWIE, those fake tans at times do make for compelling watching.
