The owners of Bingo.com have announced its financial results and the company is back in profit.
It’s not a massive figure, just $10,449, but compared to losses of nearly $500,000 in the first quarter of the year it’s good news.

The company says a drop-off in gaming activity on the site was probably because of a reduced among spent on marketing and the move to a new website system. Money is also coming in from a new social game, Trophy Bingo, which it sells through Apple’s app store, on Facebook and to Google Android phone users.
Trophy Bingo will soon go global.

The move to the new platform, Unibet, is said to have cost money in the short term, but the company is confident that system will be a success in the long run.

Bingo.com say they have millions of visitors from 200 companies, and are proud of their multinational operation which works in many languages and currencies.

Bingo.com currently offers a 200% welcome bonus and there are six rooms on the site. It’s quite a different looking site behind its cute Dalmatian branding.

Unibet has been operating since 1997, but didn’t go online till a couple of years later. It started in the sports betting sector, which is still a major part of its offering and started operating bingo games in 2006.

So what does all this dry financial news mean for players? Well, it’s obviously good news that a site that was losing money is doing better. Yes, the money comes from us players in the end, but sites going out of business is no good for players.

If you haven’t tried the site, the new platform may mean you want to take a look at it now. It’s also worth noting that they’re keen to get new players on board, so keep an eye out for promotions coming up in the autumn at Bingo.com.
