The Mecca Bingo Hall in Breightmet
A Bingo hall was stormed by armed robbers on Sunday.
Hundreds of players were inside the Mecca Bingo hall in Breightmet Fold Lane, Bolton, when they heard a loud bang in the foyer.
One player, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: “We heard a really loud bang and a scuffle.
“I don’t what the bang was but we all heard it. There were police everywhere.
“No one knew what was going on. We were told to wait inside.
“Sunday’s the busiest night here. It’s absolutely packed.”
A police spokesman said: “The only thing we can confirm is that no gunshots were fired. We cannot comment any further at this stage.”
The Mecca Bingo Hall in Breightmet was previously targeted by robbers in October 2012, when two armed men demanded cash from staff.
