Marie and Tony Lines originally met at a bingo night in Oxhey, Hertfordshire.
Mr Lines saw Marie across the bingo hall, and decided to ask her out, so he went up to her while she was queuing for the toilets. She agreed to go out with him then and there.
They later married on September 6, 1964, at a register office in Watford.
The two are both originally from South Oxhey in Hertfordshire. When the two met, Marie was working at a blouse factory, while Tony worked at a tailor as a weaver.
The couple – who have two grandchildren and one great-grandchild – still regularly attend bingo nights together. Indeed, speaking to the Watford Observer, the happy couple said that they play at various bingo clubs up and down the country, including Mecca Bingo, Gala Bingo, as well as various other bingo clubs.
Besides bingo, Tony’s hobbies include karaoke, magic and driving, while Marie enjoys knitting, reading and driving.
Today, the couple live in Hitchin where they enjoy their retirement.
The Lines’ are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary by having a meal at a hotel with their family on September 6.
