Vicky PryceIt has been reported by a major newspaper that Vicky Pryce, ex wife of shamed former Lib Dem MP Chris Huhne has been enjoying Friday night sessions of bingo in Prison with other inmates.

Vicky Pryce who is an economics expert, was jailed for 8 months after being found guilty for colluding with her husband MP Chirrs Huhne over her part in a speeding ban he had got years earlier.

The speeding ban fiasco came to light after Mr Huhne left his wife for Carina Trimingham – It was widely reported in the press, how Vicky spelled the beans last year about her taking the points for her husband after he was clocked speeding on the M11 back in 2003.

This led to the conviction of both Vicky and MP Chris and they both received 8 month jail sentences – as they say, there is nothing like a woman scorned.

Vicky Pryce was sent to Holloway prison upon conviction, but was very quickly moved to an open jail situated in Maidstone, Kent. She is quite obviously a high profile figure and the authorities would want to make sure that they could keep a close eye on her.

There has been quite a lot of controversy regarding her quick move from Holloway to an open jail, but let’s face it, what she did was hardly the crime of the century and she is not any risk to the public. I of course do understand that perverting the cause of justice is a serious offence and Vicky has certainly paid the price for her part in what has turned out to be a speeding nightmare.

Bingo has always been a very social game and it is has been played in other prisons in the UK for quite a few years. Some bingo games being played in jail even have cash prizes up for grabs, although it is not known if the bingo games Vicky Pryce has been reported as playing, have cash prize pots attached to them.

According to a source of The Sun newspaper, Vicky had to be shown the basics of how to play bingo, which her other inmates are said to have found very funny.

Bingo has got to be one of the easiest gaming activities to play, as there are no hard and fast rules, or any skills to learn. You simply mark the numbers of your card as they are called out, be the first to cover all numbers and call house to win – simples.

The game of bingo has always been about luck. You can increase your chances of winning by purchasing more bingo tickets, but at the end of the day it only takes one ticket to win.

Vicky has learnt a new pastime whilst serving her sentence, the question is – do you think she will continue to play bingo once she is back on the outside? My view – Most probably not.
