Buzz Bingo announced a few months ago that there would be a number of bingo halls closing for good and one such club was the Carlisle branch. However, as the doors were set to close for one final time, a deal was struck between the landlord of the building and the popular UK bingo chain, and as a result, twenty-five jobs have now been saved!
Ian Thayre, general manager at Buzz Bingo, said: “When we heard the news that Buzz Bingo Carlisle could reopen, we were all absolutely overjoyed. Not only has it meant that 25 people have been able to keep their jobs, but it also means that regulars and newcomers can visit us and enjoy a game of bingo too – something we know lots of people have missed over the last few months.”
Twist of Fate:
Buzz Bingo in Carlisle was one of many clubs that are still yet to open, with staff putting together the final touches before the re-opening on Thursday. Which means residents in this specific area missed out on winning a holiday last week! On Sunday, each Buzz club in the UK was picking a bingo dabber at random to win a £500 holiday voucher! But there’s still a chance you can win; all will be revealed shortly!
Mr Thayre said: “We want to reassure customers that their health and safety is our number one priority. We’ve spent the last few months eagerly preparing for their return and putting all the necessary measures in place to keep them safe. Our colleagues have been missing their regular players and are really looking forward to welcoming them back – as well as new players who might want to try something new.”
Despite the good news for this particular UK bingo club, the same cannot be said for almost 30 other bingo halls who will close in the next coming weeks/months. Mr. Thayre concluded with: “Our Carlisle club really is at the heart of the community and offers an open and friendly space for members to be amongst friends while they enjoy a game of bingo or play slots. For many it’s an important part of their routine, giving them the chance to have fun and socialise, so we can’t wait to open our doors once more later this week.”
Want to win a holiday? Of course you do! If you’re on Facebook, all you need to do is go give Buzz Bingo a follow and tell them where your dream destination is and why, on the qualifying post You have until midnight on Sunday 4th to enter, as winner will be chosen and contacted on Monday 5th by 5pm.
