Fleas, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! Bingo halls in the UK are scheduled to reopen once again and we won’t have long to wait to play either! Independence Day should be renamed Bingo-Pendence, because the doors to selected bingo halls will be thrown open on Saturday 4th July and I for one can’t contain my excitement!

The only downside for me is I live in Wales, and we have our own set of rules to follow. Travel is restricted to 5-miles (up to 15 if you’re grocery shopping or collecting medical supplies), but rumour has it, we will be able to travel freely from July 6th – yippee!

If you’re a regular here (why wouldn’t you be?), you’ll have read only recently how bingo operators around the UK have been preparing for the day they can welcome back bingo players and that day is Saturday 4th July. Mecca Bingo is remaining tight-lipped on how they plan on welcome back the masses (so to speak), but you can guarantee it will involve a booking system.

To keep abreast with their progress, we recommend giving them a follow on Facebook. Not only will you be the first to know the full re-opening details, but you’ll also be able to take part in quizzes and competitions, chat with fellow players, get an insight into new gaming titles and maybe pick up an exclusive bingo bonus (or two!) while discovering the latest big winners.

Get Ready to Dab Those Tickets:

There I was scrolling through Facebook in search of the best online bingo promotions just for you, when I stumbled upon this message from the Mecca team:

“We will be OPEN on Saturday 4th July!* We want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you for your patience during this time! We’re really excited to be opening some of our venues. We will be bringing you more bingo sessions and we have lots of exciting things to come!

We’ll be revealing more details in the next couple of weeks, so make sure you stay tuned on your local club’s page. We can’t wait to be #MeccaTogether in person again! *Selected venues only, please check your local clubs Facebook page for updates.”

Like me, many were a little puzzled as to how selected clubs would be able to open up while adhering to social distancing. Emma Louise Davies asked: “How will this work will u have to book in advance?” I’ve been saying all along it will be some sort of online (mobile too!) booking system and how right I was:

“Hi Emma, in order to ensure we’re adhering to social distancing measures; we will be putting a capacity cap on our clubs. If any of our clubs are at capacity, then unfortunately customers will not be allowed to come inside and will be asked to come back later or on a different day.

We will be launching a pre booking service in July which will allow customers to…

…secure their space to play and avoid disappointment. I suggest contacting your local club on their Facebook page for full information around their capacity, as each club is different. I hope this helps. Chat Host Mollie x”
