Bolton Hospice has teamed up with Mecca Bingo staff to run its first ever “colour run”.

The event – which is aiming to raise £5,000 – will see hundreds of participants run around while they get covered in powdered paint.

The run is due to take place at Queens Park on Sunday, August 31, reports the Bolton Post.

Mecca Bingo is going to be sponsoring the pink station, while Bolton Hospice is hoping other businesses will be doing the same.

Maria Passarello, events manager at Bolton Hospice, said: “We are hoping that local companies like Mecca Bingo will get involved with this exciting and fun event that is proving to be very popular.

“We want everyone to celebrate life in colour and have a happy and fun day.

“It’s going to be messy and the most colourful fun run you have ever taken part in.

“We are hoping to raise much needed funds for our hospice from this event.”

It costs £15 for adults and £10 for children to register. Registration includes a pair of neon sunglasses for every runner.

All the money that is raised from the run will go towards the hospice.
