Yahoo is closing down its Online Bingo, Poker and Pool games from the end of this year. Anyone going on to their site looking to play will be greeted with this: ‘NOTICE: As of December 31st 2014, Yahoo Games will no longer offer the Yahoo Classic Games including Yahoo Poker, Yahoo Pool and Yahoo Bingo on web or mobile devices.’

Yahoo told Forbes Magazine on Monday that security concerns were driving them to shut down this side of the business, they said that these issues left their Bingo, Poker and Pool games ‘incompatible, insecure & no longer functioning correctly’.

Yahoo may open part of their site again with a new Texas Hold’Em game, but they have said they would need to fix their security issues first. If you are worried about not being able to play your favourite games on the Yahoo site, it appears they may build the popular games on a more secure site and relaunch them, however they have said they can not guarantee the return of any game.

They have asked players to patient with them as building new games takes time and they want to make sure the next installment of Yahoo Games is as safe as can be. They would be concentrating on social games and free play games, with in game purchases or ‘boosts’.

Most people who play online games, including us at two little fleas, worry at some point about the safety of their information and their identity so; is this a disappointment to you? Have you played with Yahoo and are worried? Would you feel safe playing with Yahoo again? Let us know what you think.
