Gaming Realms Buys Quick Think Media

To the average online bingo player, the names Gaming Realms and Quick Think Media may not mean a lot. However, let us explain what the acquisition of Quick Think Media by Gaming Realms for £2.2 million means.

Gaming Realms is an online bingo provider that was founded by the team behind the hugely successful Foxy Bingo, who have recently made the bingo news headlines again. Yes, you’ve guessed it. Gaming Realms are the operators of Bingo Godz. So, why would they want to so much money buying a specialist advertising company?

If you’re a regular to the news pages here at Two Little Fleas, you may well recognise the name Quick Think Media. This is because just a couple of weeks ago, we broke the news that Quick Think Media-owned Bubble Bonus Bingo was to launch. QTM also owns two other bingo sites – Iceland Bingo and Hippo Bingo – both of which are hosted on the Dragonfish Bingo Network and we have been reliably informed that the new Bubble Bonus Bingo will launch on the Dragonfish network too.

So why would the owners of Bingo Godz want to buy a specialist online marketing company, which also owns a clutch of other online bingo brands? Okay, we’re answering our own question here, aren’t we! The brains behind the building of the Cashcade Bingo Network, who also masterminded the sale of Cashcade for a cool £72 million, have now bought another bunch of bingo sites and a marketing agency that has been built with the sole purpose of advertising online games. It’s clear to see that these particular businessmen are attempting to build something big again.

In a recent interview, the executive chairman of Gaming Realms, Michael Buckley gave a statement going on about ‘secure new customers over a shorter time frame and at lower cost’ and ‘new digital channels which are now available’. He continued by talking about how ‘the online gaming environment is expanding, particularly in the mobile and tablet space.’ Establishing what any of this actually means though is merely guesswork at the moment – media speak and spin.
