Well, it seems Foxy Bingo’s foray into the world outside of online bingo is continuing at full pelt, with the guys opening the doors every Wednesday for their Foxy TV channel. Accessed exclusively through their website, the web TV show offers up some live presenter fun, with promises of exclusive jackpots and plenty of fun, all served up on a first come, first served basis. But is all this live presenter and bingo TV enough to make us switch from our usual online bingo games?! Read on for our view!

First up, we have to say it’s not surprising that Foxy Bingo have launched a weekly TV programme. The guys already dabble in the world of radio – and given that Foxy Bingo even launched their own perfume not so long ago, we wont put anything past them these days.

But Foxy Bingo aren’t the first to think up the idea of live bingo with presenters. Wink Bingo and 888Ladies Bingo tried earlier in the year – although we’re not sure quite where their presenters ended up as they have yet to return from their trial period. Over at certain Virtue Fusion sites like Crown Bingo, you can find wall to wall live presenter bingo – and we even recently reviewed one of the first standalone presenter bingo sites, the aptly titled Lights, Camera, Bingo! (you can read our scoop in the reviews page). Even Gala Bingo run their own Gala TV channel, where you can play via your set.

The thing is, live bingo is one of those marmite features of online bingo. You either love it or hate it. Personally, I find it all a bit too cheesy, but some prefer it and are quick to point out how it mimics a little bit of that social experience you get from your usual games of offline bingo. I’m yet to be convinced by a site offering live presenter bingo, but like we say here, different horses for courses.

What is interesting though is that live bingo seems to be mounting a revival. Cast your mind back a few years and there were plenty of TV based bingo games – although most of these seem to have floundered along the way. The fact more and more bingo sites are starting to accommodate presenter games is definitely something to watch out for… and we’ll be taking a peek at the best presenter bingo games in the next few weeks to help you sort the turn off’s from the turn on’s. Watch this space roomies!
