Once more, Gala Bingo has proven why it is one of the most popular online bingo sites in the industry, and certainly the one where you can expect to walk away with eye watering sums of money.
One player at Gala Bingo has turned a run of bad luck into an incredibly big win after playing bingo at the site and winning the Cash Climber bingo jackpot. The player, who goes by her username ”˜theberry’ was playing bingo at the site as usual, when she decided that the time had come for a cuppa.
She made her way back to the computer with her coffee, only to find a barrage of congratulations messages by her fellow roomies. When theberry took a closer look at what all the commotion was about, she realized that she had been informed of the £90,000 win through the Cash Climber jackpot.
“I was shocked,” said the thrilled player. “At first I thought it might be a practical joke from a friend who had somehow managed to set it up, so I called Gala Bingo and they confirmed it was true.”
Theberry has won a couple of times at Gala Bingo, although none of her wins ever exceeded £50 – a far cry from her current windfall.
Indeed, the win came at the perfect time for this single mother, who had a rough ride in recent months. “I’ve had some bad luck last year, damaging my back, having my handbag stolen and crashing my car, so this is just amazing,” said an emotional, but thankful theberry.
Joining fellow bingo players in congratulating the player was the online PR manager for Gala Bingo, Lesley Hall who said: “We’re absolutely delighted for theberry and her family – especially as she had such a bad run of luck in 2009. Hopefully by becoming one of our 500,000 monthly bingo winners has helped 2010 get off to a really positive start.”
Theberry is not in a rush to spend her money, as tempting as it may be. “I’ve had years of being careful,” she said, “so I’ve just got the children a few treats – but I still haven’t spent much so far as I’m still working out what we went to do with our win.”
