Jackpotjoy are on another great TV advertising campaign, supporting Comic Relief.

At the last count there was 300+ online bingo sites open for business on the net, and this figure seems to be growing all the time with new site launches every month. We have also seen a fair amount of closures over the years, but nothing compared to new sites going live.

The UK Bingo gaming space is a very competitive place, which is great for us ‘the player’ as more rivalry between operators, means better promotions and offers they will keep coming up with to entice us to play at their site.

Healthy competition is always a bonus for us the consumer and just like supermarket wars between the likes of Tesco, Morrison’s and Sainsbury’s – bingo operators also battle it out behind the scenes to compete against each other and deliver the next big thing.

With such a competitive marketplace, TV advertising is a great way for sites to reach millions of players and many operators (well any worth their salt) take to our TV screens to advertise their wares.

However, whilst some operators like Foxy Bingo are the pinnacle of how advertising should be done, we have seen some truly abysmal TV advertising campaigns over the years. Thankfully, now gone is the old bored housewife TV bingo advert which lots of sites used to go for, in favour of more funny gimmicks.

Take the current TV advertising campaign being run by Jackpotjoy in support of Comic Relief. These guys are marketing guru’s and really know how to put on some great campaigns.

First they enlisted  Barbara Windsor, who is well known for playing Peggy Mitchell in Eastenders to become the face of their online site and then they have got her to do all sorts of comical stunts for them in their TV commercials – Brilliant!

At the moment Barbara is shown on their homepage sporting a big red nose, with the caption – Just for the JackpotJoy of it and their Comic Relief TV ad is hilarious to watch.

75 year old Barbara even learned Kung fu so she could perform all her own stunts in the ad and one thing is for sure, for a lady of her age, she is still kicking ass.

On 15th March 2013, Comic Relief will be celebrating its 25th year of saying pants to poverty. Jackpotjoy have certainly served up some great new TV bingo twists to help raise money for this very worthwhile charity event.
