It seems that some bingo operators are having a bit of a change of heart when it comes to their reward schemes. Two new style schemes have caught our eye of late, with both Foxy Bingo and Wink Bingo leading the charge with some new linked in reward games. The new reward schemes may be bigger – but are they actually better for us roomies? Find out our take right after the jump.

Not surprisingly, it’s the two biggest operating groups that seem to be going head to head with new reward schemes. First up is Bingo Brolly, which comes from the Cashcade group. The scheme includes their top sites like Foxy Bingo, Think Bingo, Cheeky Bingo and Foxy Zero. Basically, it works like this: you collect points, which are known as brollies. When you wager £20 on bingo or £200 in instant games, you get a brolly, and when you get 10 brollies, you can earn one entry into their monthly game, which will play at one of the partner sites. The game is worth £10k, and is also open to roomies on the site it plays at for a cost of £1 a card. You can also find extra brollies on the sites through exclusive promotions – making it well worth your while to keep up to date with their respective Facebook’s and what not.

Not soon after Bingo Brolly appeared, we noticed the Joy of Bingo sites – Wink Bingo, Posh Bingo, Tasty Bingo, Red Bus Bingo and new bingo site Bingostreet – had launched a new Joy of Bingo promotion. Once a month, you can buy 10p tickets to a special linked game, where there are 1,000,000 Joy Points up for grabs. Sounds a little lower cost to us, but here’s the interesting catch – if you happen to win the prize, you have to sign up at ALL sites to validate your prize and claim the points.

See, on one hand we do think these type of promo’s are rewarding, particularly if you happen to play at all the sites mentioned already. If not, well, it’s certainly a sneaky way of getting you to sign up eh. Increasingly, we are finding there are more promos appearing intent on making you spend more at more places. That’s all well and good for the high rollers amongst us, but those on a tighter budget seemed to be priced out of the fun. Of course, it’s totally a matter of personal taste – but for us, we’re not sure how rewarding these ”˜reward’ schemes really are…
