Whilst browsing around on the internet the other day, we stumbled upon a real gem that we think reveals a lot about how online bingo players really play the game. Found via online bingo site Bingo Mania, the guys have apparently been asking their players to name their online bingo commandments – the rules of online bingo. Find out the results after the jump!

We’ll kick things off with a list of the commandments, as selected by the players at Bingo Mania themselves. A huge range of suggestions were submitted, and players voted the following as the ultimate Online Bingo Commandments:

Thou shall not whine about how much left in my account
Thou shall not forget to say Ty for BBs
Thou shall not whine after winning all day
Thou shall shower roomies with WTGs when they win
Thou shall not wish bad luck on thy roomies
Thou shall not enter or exit the chat room without greeting the roomies and CM’s
Thou shall not curse my fellow roomies who bingo over me
Thou shall lie to hubbie about how much thou lost
Thou shall not whine unless I bring the cheese
Thou shall invite friends to my favourite bingo site, because bingo is better with friends
Thou shall lie to hubbie about how much thou won

As we were looking over, we couldn’t help but realise some home truths about online bingo players. For one, it seems that there’s still that female skew in online bingo that many people often talk about – hence the reason why so many commandments make reference to hubbie. With official figures suggesting around 20% of the bingo audience is male, it seems online bingo is still a woman’s world.

And the fact that not telling your hubbie about your online bingo habits is something that we’ve often thought here at Online Bingo Finder – lord knows we try and keep our play strictly to ourselves. It’s a trend that’s common among online bingo players – with a survey from Bingo Hideout showing that around 1/3rd of us ladies actually tell our husbands and partners about our online bingo habits. We’re also prone to exercise our right to remain silent, with only 25% of women telling their partner how much they spend on online bingo games.

And it seems online bingo players do like to stick by the rule of the more the merrier – with players valuing the chance to sign up their mates and get them on board their favourite bingo site. Of course, with loads of bingo sites offering things like refer a friend deals, where you can pick up £10 for every mate you invite in on the action, it’s easy to see how it can benefit all involved!

But there were other commandments that seem to show online bingo players as a polite and thoughtful bunch. Rules like losing graciously (an art we’ve got perfected to a T here lol), being grateful for free games and not whining when we miss out on them and minding our P’s, Q’s and WTG’s when it comes to other roomies and CM’s definitely strike a chord amongst us lot here. After all, online bingo ain’t just about the winning – it’s also the taking part, and getting involved in the chat rooms, being nice to your other roomies is all part and parcel of the online bingo experience.

What do you think of these online bingo commandments? Do you have any suggestions for alternatives – or any you’d like to see ditched?! We’d love to know, so get in touch with us below!
