Things are a bit different in Australia, they have barbecues for Christmas and the school year starts in January not September- so you shouldn’t be too surprised when we tell you about the bingo hall that decided to spice things up by having an exotic night with strippers and a chance to win $10,000!
Though the night was meant to be a bit of harmless fun, the local Whittlesea Council are not too happy with Thomastown Bingo Cantre’s “x-rated Hen’s and Buck’s night” on Tuesday. Over 600 women turned up to play for the prize and ogle at the Hunky ‘Men In Action’ who performed that night. The evening was deemed “one of the most popular bingo nights in years” and its not too hard to imagine why!
Customer opinion on their facebook page has been divided between support and requests for another night, and comments which have since been deleted saying such things as “tacky”. As in any business, you can’t please everyone.
Thomastown Bingo Centre managing director Doug Willmot said patrons had requested the event. “All that were there wanted to be there. Nobody’s twisted anybody’s arm.”
Two Little Fleas wonder if this idea will catch on in the UK? Any bingo halls that consider it are more than welcome to invite us along for a game!
