Don’t Hassel the Hoff
David Hasselhoff might be the most famous man on the planet and he’s now a genuine bingo celebrity too!
The Hoff made a surprise appearance at Bongo’s Bingo in Liverpool over the weekend, entertaining the crowd and calling numbers.
He made his appearance at around 10:30pm, having just come off stage at a local theatre where he was starring in musical Last Night A DJ Saved My Life.
The Hoff became a household name in Baywatch.
Don’t expect The Hoff to take up bingo calling permanently though. According to Bongo’s Bingo host Jonny Bingo, he’s never played bingo before!
What exactly is Bongo’s Bingo though?
It’s the latest bingo craze that’s sweeping the North of England. Combining the traditional game with a club atmosphere, Bongo’s Bingo has been receiving rave reviews.
Events in Liverpool and Manchester are a regular sellout and the group has now started operating in Leeds too. Tickets for this particular event sold out within 24 hours; quite the feat!
The Hoff isn’t the first celeb to make an appearance at a Bongo’s Bingo event though. The Cheeky Girls also appeared late last year, entering the venue in a convertible which was given away later that night.
New wave
Bongo’s Bingo are at the forefront of a movement to shake bingo up and create a brand new experience; Rebel Bingo is another group dedicated to doing the same.
Gala Bingo are even getting in on the act in Southampton. Their new venue will feature a “pub-style club” to entice a younger crowd in.
Looks like the public perception of bingo is starting to change!
