Players visitTombola Bingoing the Tombola site in the last couple of days may well have found themselves unable to log in. The Tombola site was still down this morning and only re-opened for play at around 10am today (Thursday 27th February). Tombola announced yesterday on their Facebook page that they were experiencing some issues with the site which they were working hard to fix. However, problems continued throughout the day and players are understandably frustrated at interrupted games and the inability to use recently deposited funds.

Closed for maintenance

The site crash was initially explained to customers as being due to essential maintenance when it closed in the early hours of yesterday morning (Wednesday 26th February). Tombola assured players that the site would only be down for a couple of hours, but although it was up and running by 0930 yesterday it had stopped working once again by yesterday lunchtime. Interruptions continued throughout the day and by this morning members were still unable to access the site.

Technical difficulties

Although Tombola replied to individuals’ complaints on Facebook, there was no sign of a general warning or statement until early yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 26th February) when the site apologised to players for any inconvenience caused and gave their assurances that they were working hard to fix the issues with the site. Tombola explained that maintenance was taking longer than expected and that the site was down as a result of technical difficulties. There was no mention of any interruption on Twitter, but Tombola issued an apology statement to all members on their site yesterday.

Calls for compensation

The shutdown appears to have affected Tombola software across the board, with players unable to log in on either computers or mobile devices. Loyal customers were calling for a £5 bonus compensation for all players and several took the opportunity to air their grievances with the site. At the time of writing, normal service at Tombola had resumed, despite some teething problems with the live chat feature and a few interruptions during the course of the day.

Refunds for players

The good news is that Tombola seems to be taking player support very seriously and has pledged to refund any games that did not play out. Plus, as a further apology to players, Tombola has decided to extend its £75 in Bingo75 promotion for another day, to ensure that anyone unable to take part yesterday will be in with a chance to win the guaranteed £75 prizes today. The promotion runs on every Bingo75 game (desktop only) between 12pm and 2pm today (Thursday 27th February), so log on now to try your luck! Tombola is also giving away onesies in a special Facebook competition to apologise for the site’s issues. That runs until 5pm today, so comment below their post now for a chance to win!
