Bloke Bingo will shut up shop on July 16th, and presumably go down the pub to think things over. Players are being asked to play through any remaining credits and remove all their cash from the site before that date. If you don’t, you’ll lose your cash and bonuses will be forfeited.
Bloke Bingo was part of the Better Bingo Network, and offered man-friendly branding and features like video games reviews and lots of slots. Prizes like games consoles replaced the usual beauty-related offerings from the female-friendly sites that make up the vast majority of bingo sites.
The site offered plenty of blokeish banter and even went into details on its tech specs, all authored by the site admin, Mikey. Welcome bonuses were 100% up to a maximum of £50 and there were some big jackpots at the site too – £40,000 on bingo and £200,000 on slots.
They used Virtue Fusion software with Better Bingo working like a franchise operation, with sites able to sign up and use the software and community facilities with their own branding. UK-style 90 ball bingo was the core of the network, but they also ran the slots. You can still play the software at sites such as Mecca Bingo.
The site tried hard to make its point, asking, “I’m a bloke, why should I play bingo?” and even suggesting the site was a great place to get talking to women while playing the ‘manly’ slots.
The site’s contact page is down at the moment, but emails to customers are recommending that players use the live help facility on the site or email support@blokebingo.com with any questions or problems with redeeming your account.
No reason for the closure has been announced. Perhaps blokes – or not enough blokes – don’t really want to play bingo, even on a site dedicated to meeting their needs. However, we are hearing news that several other sites on the Better Bingo Network are also closing. Does this signify the end for a big network?
