Will you play bingo to make a difference this World Cancer Day? Bid Bingo invites you to take part in a bingo fundraising event to not only win yourself some cash, but to help raise vital funds for a very worthy cause – Against Breast Cancer.

February 4th is World Cancer Day – a day that unites people, communities and entire countries to raise awareness and take action. As a bingo community, we’re bringing you the information on how you can take part and make a difference to a lot of people’s lives.

“World Cancer Dayis led by the UICC, the Union for International Cancer Control. Cancer Research UK is one of its thousand members from across 162 countries, and we also sit on the board. World Cancer Day is the one singular initiative under which the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. No single person, organisation or country is going to beat cancer on its own. We must all work together to make faster progress on our goal of 3 in 4 people surviving cancer by 2034.

Statistically Speaking:

According to Cancer Research UK, 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime, which is shocking. Treatments are needed more now than ever and as the population ages, cancer will become more prevalent. There are many different types of the deadly disease, and breast cancer is the most common.

Overview:

  • 55,213+ new cases of invasive breast cancer were recorded between 2014/2016.
  • Of that figure, 11,399 died.
  • Survival rates among breast cancer patients is at 78% for 10 or more years.
  • 23% of breast cancer causes are preventable.

There is no one-cap fits all when it comes to cancer. Symptoms display themselves differently, but it’s important to know how your body operates. If you notice any one or more of the following symptoms, talk to your GP:

  • A lump or mass in the breast.
  • A thickening of the skin.
  • Swelling with or without a lump.
  • Breast or nipple pain.
  • Nipple turning inwards.
  • Breast becomes thickened, red or scaly.
  • Nipple discharge.
  • A change in the overall shape of your breast.

If you’ve been affected by cancer or know someone who has, you can take part in raising vital funds by playing the fundraiser bingo games at Bid Bingo. Tuesday 4th Feb, between 9pm and 10pm, tickets will set you back just 1p each. Every penny spent in the Royal Room will go directly to the charity…

…and Bid’s sister site (Chit Chat Bingo, BingoZino, Bingo Ireland, UK-Bingo, Pink Ribbon Bingo, Bingo52, Loadsa Bingo or LoveHearts Bingo) will donate £200 to the cause.
