A painter and decorator has scooped a lottery rollover of more than £7 million.

A painter and decorator from Edinburgh has won more than £7 million in a National Lottery rollover, reports the Mirror.

The man – who is from Edinburgh – has not yet been named.

He won the jackpot during Saturday night’s draw.

He is scheduled to collect his winnings tomorrow in Edinburgh. In total, he will collect £7,084,472. At the conference tomorrow, it is believed that he will discuss what he is planning to use the money for.

He is the latest Scottish figure to win a jackpot, following Chris and Colin Weir who won £161 million on the Euromillions lottery in 2011.

Before the couple, former postal worker, Agela Kelly, was Scotland’s biggest winner, collecting  a £35,425,411.80 EuroMillions jackpot, in August 2007.

Before her, the previous record holder was John McGuiness who won £10 million in 1997 but lost millions of pounds investing his winnings in Livingston Football Club.

The Weirs are the most famous Scottish lottery winners, having donated millions to the Scottish independence campaign. According to Electoral Commission figures, the pair have donated £5.5 million to the SNP and Yes Scotland since their record-breaking win.

The Euromillions winners called themselves as “lifelong supporters of independence” in a public statement earlier this year.
