Hugh Jackman has spent more than £200,000 on scratchcards for film crews.

The famous actor, Hugh Jackman has spent more than £200,000 on scratchcards and lottery tickets for production staff on his film sets during the last 14 years.

The X-Men star believes that staff will work better and be more receptive if they think that they might be in the running to win huge cash prizes.

A source close to the actor said: “He loves that it helps keeps spirits up.”

Despite spending such a vast sum over the years, there have yet to be any major wins.

The actor’s agent told The Sun newspaper: “There have been winners but no one’s hit it big – yet.”

The 45-year-old is reportedly handing out more cards than ever before as he films his latest role in Pan. In this film, Jackman stars as Blackbeard alongside Amanda Seyfried and Burberry model Cara Delevingne.

But it is not only production staff he helps, the Australian actor also recently helped his overweight friend, the Australian radio and TV personality Gus Worland, get fit for the New York City Marathon.

Gus said earlier this year: “Jacko and I talk a lot and as expected he is very honest and passionate with his advice.

“He’s proud of me but is not concerned that I’ll take over [his role as] Wolverine.”
