We may only be half-way through October but Microgaming have already made plans for 2021, well, January at least. Since the Megaways mechanic graced our screens back in 2016, software providers can’t get enough of it and this has resulted in an influx in Megaways titles from the likes of Blueprint Gaming, Red Tiger Gaming and even Inspired Gaming!

There’s something about being able to win on up to 117,649 pay lines and an increasing multiplier of up to 10,000x during free games – if you’re yet to discover these specific slots, you’re in for a major surprise! Microgaming like many others before them want a slice of the action which has led to a deal being struck with Big Time Gaming (BTG); a deal that will see the trademarked mechanic enter into a number of upcoming slots and it starts with Shamrock Holmes!

John Coleman, CEO at Microgaming had this to say on the exciting new partnership: “Megaways has had huge success and we’re excited to be integrating the mechanic into some of our future games. Big Time Gamingare proven innovators, and we are delighted to extend our relationship with them and grow their presence on our platform.”

Tell Me More:

Earmarked for release in January 2021…

…Shamrock Holmes will be the first Microgaming powered Megaways title and if its name is anything to go by, there will be plenty of luck and mystery involved in its features. If that title is familiar to you – no, you’re not losing your mind, it’s because back in July Mr Spin unveiled his very own Shamrock Holmes game, only it doesn’t offer as many ways to win or the same features as the upcoming Microgaming title.

Nik Robinson, CEO at Big Time Gaming added: “We’re on a mission to bring the Megaways revolution to a bigger audience, and they don’t come much bigger than Microgaming. These guys were industry pioneers and today they remain one of the biggest forces in the gaming space. As ardent slots fans, we’re delighted to be contributing in a small way to the Microgaming story.”

Popular Megaways slots already on the online casino scene include:

  • Rainbow Riches Megaways by Blueprint Gaming
  • Reel King Megaways by Inspired Gaming
  • Piggy Riches Megaways by Red Tiger Gaming
  • Bonanza – the original and very first Megaways title created by BTG back in 2016
  • Gonzo’s Quest Megaways by NetEnt
  • Raging Rhino Megaways by WMS

Features of Megaways slots always include a free games bonus where an increasing multiplier (up to 10,000x) is applied to winnings, only it doesn’t reset after each consecutive win – it keeps on climbing with each win triggered. Other features may include a cascading reel engine during the base game, an increasing multiplier (Red Tiger’s Dragon Fire Megaways title) during the base game and randomly triggered bonuses.
