DIY Facemasks

We all deserve a little “me” time. Whether your ultimate indulgence involves a cuppa and a spot of bingo, a naughty little shopping spree or a long, relaxing soak in the tub, it does us the world of good to give ourselves a touch of TLC.

If you fancy a good old fashioned pamper session to help you unwind, we’ve put together Two Little Flea’s favourite free facemasks, conjured up from ingredients you’ll find in your kitchen cupboard already. Forget the spa, the salon and even Superdrug, these homemade lovelies will have you feeling smooth, silky and totally relaxed in no time. You could even pop your mask on before you settle down to an exciting round on your favourite bingo site – just don’t answer the door halfway through…

1) Creamy Brightening & Moisturising Mask

Perfect for:

Skin in need of a little radiance, dry skin, sore or damaged skin and skin with a breakout looming…

You’ll need:

  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice

Instructions:

Simply whip this little mixture all up together and apply to thoroughly cleansed skin. Leave the facemask on for 20 minutes before washing it off with tepid water. Rinse your face once more with cool (but not cold) water before patting dry.

2) Honey & Orange Cleansing Mask

Perfect for:

Skin in need of a health kick, problem skin, skin in need of a good old scrub…

You’ll need:

  • 50g unflavoured oats
  • Juice from 1 orange
  • 3 tbsp Greek yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp dried orange peel

Instructions:

Mix everything up and stir it well until it’s fully combined. You need a thick consistency which won’t run off your face so add a little more oatmeal if it looks too runny.

Carefully wash and dry your face before applying the mask in an even layer avoiding the area around your eyes. Don’t worry if any gets in your mouth – it’s totally delicious! Leave on for 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Et voila! You’re looking beautiful.

3) Avocado Peeling Mask

Perfect for:

Dry, chapped skin, scarred skin, blocked pores, winter-battered faces…

You’ll need:

  • Half a mashed avocado
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 egg whites

Instructions:

Beat the egg whites well until they become foamy, then mix in the honey and the avo thoroughly to make a thin paste.

Apply the paste thinly to dry, cleansed skin and leave for 20 minutes or until dry enough to peel. Peel off and rinse your face in warm water before gently patting dry.
