1. Simple Starry Peppermint Creams from Good Food

A retro classic biscuit given a modern style update! These tasty minty treats look amazing as moons and stars – and they’re really fun to cut out and decorate. The whole thing requires just 5 ingredients and takes just 30 minutes of preparation time, leaving you with lots of time for decorating and licking the bowl. If you don’t have star-shaped cookie cutters, help your kids cut out star shapes by hand! Find Simon Rimmer’s recipe here to get started.

2. Easy Peasy Iced Biscuits from Good Food

This super simple iced biscuit couldn’t be easier. They might not be the most sophisticated bikkies in the world, but the joy lies in the decoration! These biscuits are the perfect canvas for creating culinary art so check out the recipe here and let your little ones’ creative streaks run riot!

3. Rainbow Cookies from BBC Food

I challenge you not to love these adorable rainbow cookies, covered in hundreds and thousands. There are only two steps to make these tasty rainbow treats and the very best bit has to be dipping them into the colourful sprinkles. Your kids are sure to agree too. Find the recipe here.

When you think about making biscuits with your bairns, I’ll bet these are the biscuits you picture. This recipe which Sticky Fingers has adapted from a Nigella recipe, is the perfect easy buttery biscuit recipe. Ideal for cookie cutters of all shapes and sizes and less-than-expert icing!
