We all love our pets, and we want the best for them. But sometimes that love expresses itself in odd ways – as these dog outfits show.

Punkd jeans

Have you ever looked at your favourite pair of designer jeans and thought “my dog would love these!” Someone clearly has, hence the designer doggy jeans.

Dog tie collar

This is one of the most reasonable of the outfits we’ve found – its just some extra fabric on a standard collar. The thing we can’t understand is why anyone would see an accessory that most people can’t wait to whip off and think their pets would look adorable in it.

Cancun dog swim trunks

A swim suit for your dog. Because your dog is so embarrassed about his wobbly thighs when he leaps into water.

Polly Parrot dog costume

There is a big market for dog costumes, and it makes sense when you think about it. People enjoy getting their pets into the holiday spirit. Still, there’s something about this tropical outfit in particular that makes it feel a bit different.

Shearling dog coat

We realise many dogs, including racing dogs and small dogs like this little Papillon, need coats to keep warm in cold weather. A large part of owning these kinds of animals in colder climates means knowing you have to help them keep warm. But why a Top Gun-style bomber jacket?

Midnight in Paris dress

Ensure your pup is appropriately chic on your European tour with this Midnight in Paris dress by doggy designer Oscar Newman.

Dog polo shirt

Let’s be honest: we didn’t realise what French bulldogs were bred for until now. To wear tiny polo shirts.

Debutante dog dress

This little dress is perfect for your little puppy’s debut at this year’s cotillion. Just make sure she knows which spoon to use when she eats supper before the debutante ball.

Taco dog costume

This is by far and away the best taco dog costume we’ve seen, and believe it or not, we’ve seen plenty. It’s from the same genre of dog costumes as the hotdog costume for dachshunds, but because Chihuahuas are not even remotely taco-shaped, we’re going to say this one is weirder. Dachshunds are shaped like sausages, after all, and there can be a pun on hot dog there. But the taco one is just… odd.

Buckingham wedding dress

Source

The odd thing about this is not that it’s a wedding dress. Dogs regularly participate in human weddings or attend their own “weddings”, and they are often dressed for the occasion. This outfit is odd because it is called the Buckingham wedding dress, and it’s companion tux is called the William Dog Tux. That’s right: in certain parts of the world, people are mimicking the royal wedding with their dogs.

Maybe we’ve been looking at too many dog outfits, but to be honest, we’re now starting to think these outfits are less weird and more kind of cute in an odd way. What do you think? Are these outfits weirdly cute or just plain weird?
