Summer is over, and our holidays are coming to an end. But that doesn’t mean we can’t fantasise about our dream holidays – and our dream holiday companions. Below, we look at our dream holiday companions and why we want them to be with us on our dream holiday.

Helen Mirren is an amazingly talented actress, but she has become a national treasure because of her great personality. She seems so witty, open and down to earth, it is hard to imagine not having a great time with her. After all, she could talk about anything, keep us laughing and just have a ball, whatever we got up to.
David Beckham
If we need to explain it, we can boil it down to three words: David Beckham shirtless. In truth, though, he’s so much more than a pretty face. He is a dedicated family man, and he could keep the little ones entertained just kicking around a football on the beach.
Cheryl Cole
Cheryl Cole has come a long way since her Girls Aloud days. She’s had her fair share of controversy, but she always seems to come out the other side a better person for it. She has an infectious smile and it seems she’s always up for a laugh, so you will be hard pressed to feel grumpy if she’s joining you on holiday.

Bear Grylls is a good looking man, but bringing him on a dream holiday is like bringing a Swiss army knife. You hope you don’t have to use him for anything except opening bottles of wine, but if you do need to rely on him for something more serious, you’ll be glad he’s there. Besides, playing “how would use these items to survive” would never get old.

Any fantasy holiday has to have its joker, and no one is more widely admired for his jokes than Michael McIntyre. He could keep the whole group laughing, no matter what happened, thanks to his ability to turn everyday observances into hilarious anecdotes.

Like Helen Mirren, Idris Elba is a respected actor whose off-screen personality makes him truly a superstar. He is not above posting silly photos of himself on his social media profiles, and in interviews he comes across as thoughtful, charming and just plain fun. It doesn’t hurt that he is absolutely gorgeous, too.

Stephen Fry would be the best tour guide ever, hands down. He could tell you everything you ever wanted to know about every place you see, and he could then tell you the even more interesting titbits that you didn’t know you wanted to know. The best thing about him is that even though he knows pretty much everything, he never sounds like a know-it-all or makes you feel bad for not knowing. He just makes you as excited about the facts as he is.
These are our top picks for our dream holiday companions. Sure, it’s never going to happen, but it’s fun to imagine.
