We all love a good game – that’s why we do what we do here. But sometimes it’s nice to find new games online. And when those games are free as well, all the better. We scoured the web for the best free games out there, and below are seven insanely fun ones.
So check out these 7 awesome free online games.
Wonderputt

Have you ever wondered how golfers can spend all day out on the greens? There is something about concentrating solely on whacking a little ball around that really helps you clear your head. If you want something that soothing in a game, you should try Wonderputt. You start by overlooking a compact little planet that, through the impact of meteor showers, aliens, cows, penguins and more, gets shaped into a perfect little putting course. You simply use your mouse to line up your shot and indicate the strength of the putt, and you try to sink the ball.
The gameplay really is that easy, but it’s the game as a whole that makes it so worthwhile. The background music is a Zen-like ditty featuring digital bells, the graphics are really charming and the in-game animation is so smooth, you feel like you’re playing a Pixar film
Zuma Blitz

Zuma Blitz is the opposite of soothing and relaxing. It is fast-paced, exciting and way too addictive to possibly be good for you. That said, you will adore this game. You control the stone frog in the centre of the game board. Coloured balls run through the puzzle, and you try to shoot coloured balls out of the frog’s mouth. The aim is to keep the balls from filling up the board. You do this by matching three or more coloured balls, which will then be cleared from the board. When you clear all the balls, you move to the next level.
In addition, you have a little gauge at the bottom of the screen. When it goes to full power, you get extra strengths that help you clear more of the board, faster. It may seem like you’re just clicking like a madman, but in reality, you’re going to be having an absolute blast.
Drifting Afternoon

Ferry Halim is a bit of a celebrity in the calming casual gaming world. His website features a host of games that are simple, repetitive, gorgeous and relaxing. Of them, Drifting Afternoon is one of the best. You control a kitten who runs through a field trying to bounce onto pastel bubbles. You control the direction of his little jumps by moving your mouse, and you make him leap by clicking. You earn points for jumping onto a bubble, and you also earn points for leaping over bubbles.
But really, all of that is just added to make it a game. The point of the exercise is to ease yourself into a world where adorable ginger cats leap over bubbles, and that’s as hard or scary as that world gets. This is a bubble bath on your computer.
Candy Crush Saga

You’re probably already a master at Candy Crush Saga, but we’ve included it here anyway. For those who don’t know about it, you switch candies to get a combination of three or more matching candies. This helps you earn points and bonuses, and it can result in some powerful new candies. As you earn points, the candy cane at the side of the screen gets more stripes. Every time you fill up the candy cane with stripes, you progress to a slightly more challenging level. It’s just like candy: goes down a treat, and you can quickly find yourself binging before you know it.
You can play the game on your Apple or Android device or on Facebook, and it saves your game, so you can switch between devices and Facebook. That way, wherever you are and whatever you play it on, you won’t lose your progress.
Fashion Solitaire

Fashion Solitaire is where solitaire meets paper dolls. Each card is an item of clothing, a hairstyle or accessories, and you have to dress the dolls for a fashion show. The cards are stacked up like in a game of solitaire, so to reveal more clothes and hair styles, you have to place the items on the models. As the game goes on, it gets trickier. You have to include certain colours of items, and the number of models increases. At a certain point, you have to design your own items as well, which just adds to the challenge.
Virtual Families 2: Our Dream House

If you find The Sims a bit intensive in terms of time and effort, you may prefer Virtual Families 2: Our Dream House. You start by picking out a virtual person. You then try to find a good partner for them, help them have kids (if they want them), progress their career and improve their home. It’s made by the company that developed Virtual Villagers, so a lot of the technology is the same: the light in the game is synced with your device’s clock, so it’s night for your virtual family when it’s night for you. Plus, the game keeps going, even when you’re not actively playing, so your family continues to age and progress even when you’re doing something else.
It’s not the most exciting game on this list, but it is a great way to amuse yourself throughout the day.
Kingdom Rush

Kingdom Rush is a pretty popular game, so you may have already heard of it. You may have already tried it out, too. But for those who don’t know, Kingdom Rush is a tower defence game. Essentially, you have to fight off the evil hoards of demons, goblins, orcs and yetis in an attempt to keep them from overrunning the kingdom. You click a space to put up a tower – which holds either soldiers, archers, wizards or trolls with cannons – and you click to upgrade when you have enough coins.
The game is simple to pick up. Despite this simplicity, the strategic combinations of towers is practically endless, and the graphics are lovely. This combines to make a game that is truly exciting and fun.
