Bingo is Back with a Bang!
Playing online bingo is great, but sometimes we just need to get out and socialise, which why I for one can’t wait until May 17th – the day bingo re-opens! I’m like a kid at Christmas counting down the days until I can sit at my lucky table, and if you’re one of the many people also looking forward to re-visiting a bingo hall, there are a few things you should know; one of them is how to guarantee yourself a seat.
I’ll set the scene; it’s Monday, you’re getting ready to go to bingo and when you arrive, 15-mins earlier than you would’ve done last year, the queue is massive and you’re not even out of the car. By the time you get to the front of the queue, table allocation is full, so it’s back into the car for you! The only full house you’ll be seeing is your own house when you’re driving away from a packed venue! To stop this from happening, you can book a seat via the club website or you can call ahead to make arrangements. A booking fee may be taken to secure your seat, but this will cover the cost of the bingo session.
A Bingo Party Like No Other:
Mecca Bingo and Buzz Bingo have both introduced a welcome back to bingo offer, and strangely enough, both involve a blast from the past. Mecca Bingo are celebrating 60-years on the British high street and to mark this occasion, all session books will be just 60p each – the cost it would’ve been back in the 60’s. How long this offer will run for is anyone’s guess but what we do know is £1million will be won every weekend in May! From Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd, then again from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th, in-club prize pools will be boosted across the entire country!
Buzz will be enlisting the help of Coleen Nolan, the former pop girl and one of the many siblings in the band ‘The Nolans,’ to help ease colleagues back into bingo. One club will also see Coleen take to the stage to call the numbers herself, this on the re-opening day when all customers will be welcomed back with a free tea or coffee as well as a sausage or bacon breakfast roll.
Don’t forget, National Bingo Day is coming on June 27th, the day when rival bingo operators come together in a day of celebration for all things bingo! It may be new to us Brits, but US bingo players have been celebrating this very same day for years now, but what does it involve and what can we expect? The Bingo Association have promised an enhanced prize pot of at least £250K up for grabs while participating clubs guarantee special offers on food and drink, big bingo games with more ways to win and win big as well as bonuses and prize giveaways. It really will be a day to remember.
