Bingo has been given a much-needed boost courtesy of Microgaming’s latest distribution deal with Neko Games. When it comes to casino games, the developer is a multi-award-winning developer, but up until now, the awards have only come from online slots and casino games.
Slot spinning action is what they do best, so when I heard of a deal which would see bingo games being produced, I was a little taken back. Swapping a reel engine with bountiful bonus features for a bingo ticket with multiple ways to win is exactly what the industry wanted to hear!
Online bingo has been very much standard (until now!) with four main types of games; 90-ball, 80-ball plus patterned and 5-line 75-ball, however, the Isle of Man based software provider have upped their game with a new Latin American twist on the traditional numbers game!
Leon Thomas, Commercial Director at Microgaming couldn’t wait to put out a press release: “Video bingo games are particularly popular in LATAM, and the team at Neko Games have done a tremendous job with their debut title, Super Showball.
We are pleased to welcome the studio to our content aggregation platform and look forward to working with them on further diversifying our portfolio for Microgaming customers worldwide.”
Who are Neko Games?
Neko Games are what we consider to be software provider virgins; the new kids on the block, but that hasn’t stopped them netting a whopping distribution deal with a global online casino provider. From small acorns big trees grow and having a flair for simple but engaging games means we’re about to get a wider bingo game lobby to choose from!
Super Showball is the first to be released; a video bingo game with more than just a hint of samba! In a style very similar to that of Slingo, the aim of the game is to match as many numbers on your purchased tickets as possible. There are 90-balls in each game, but, when it comes to calls, only 30 of them are summoned.
If you don’t manage to win in the main game, there is a mechanic that kicks in…
…should you have a ticket with the potential to win more than 8x your stake. Additional goes can be purchased once the game is over. Candidate numbers are highlighted in orange and yellow with the sum on offer, if your numbers just happen to show up.
The video bingo game mechanics (similar to creative video poker only with numbers and not cards!) is simple to understand. There are basic winning patterns to benefit from (one-line, two lines and a full house), as well as jackpots! And it won’t be long before we see Pachinko or Fu 88 grace our screens, two further video bingo titles from Neko, each packed with free balls, wild balls, bonuses and jackpots!
Keep your eyes peeled for the launch of a new bingo experience at an online casino near you soon!
