With a plethora of on demand and online content available these days, you might think that there’s no need to look anywhere other than your regular TV channels when you’re settling the kids down with a video. But, take a little look at YouTube and you’ll find a tonne of amazing stuff, particularly if your youngster has a special interest or talent. To start your kids’ YouTube journey off, here are 5 good channels to check out once you’ve finished up your latest round of free bingo!
1. Sesame Street
Some of the best kids YouTube channels come from independent video makers – and the some of them come from your little one’s very favorite existing shows. The Sesame Street YouTube channel falls into the latter category. We’re big fans of the celeb playlist. Here’s Sarah Michelle Gellar of Buffy fame and Elmo exploring the concept of “disappointment”.
2. Sick Science
Brilliant, intriguing science for budding young geniuses. This channel is full of exciting projects kids can try at home, along with interesting follow up lessons to make sure they’re learning too!
3. Yo Gabba Gabba
A US kids show for younger kids which is a surprising amount of fun – with a lot of heart and some education smuggled into all of the color and singing.
4. Big Red Hat Kids
This fun channel was developed to introduce kids to different countries and cultures all around the world. Here are The Travelling Trio – regular hosts – introducing everyone to Slovakia, including a jousting tournament!
5. AllTube4Kidz
Who wants to watch a bunch of boring grown ups doing stuff? This channel is all about giving kids the control and the camera. AllTube4Kidz goes to a lot of effort to make their YouTube channel a safe place for young people to share, watch and make their own videos online
